Dr. Eva-Maria Hempe
Hello! I am Eva-Maria. I am a strategist, a technology and healthcare leader, a sales leader, a board member, an author, a speaker, and an investor. My area of expertise is the intersection of healthcare & life science and AI – I currently lead the healthcare and life science business for NVIDIA in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Oh, and in the past, I have been a scientist, a journalist, an athlete, a policy maker, and a politician.
What drives me is to grow and learn. So far, I managed to achieved a lot, and most of it fast. I studied physics in 3.5 years, got a full-time offer from McKinsey at 21, had my PhD funded by Bill Gates, rowed for Cambridge within 18 months of picking up an oar for the first time, was promoted early at every level during my career at Bain & Company, and won President’s Club in my second year as a sales manager. Oh, and I grew sales on my focus accounts by 88% every year and got attrition in my team down to zero. And there is still so much out there to learn.
I enjoy sharing some of the lessons I learned along the way by writing, speaking, and/ or advising.
Two key lessons I have learned are: empathy is key to both, building successful teams and delivering (customer) value, and you need to have a thorough understanding of customer needs to be able to identify what is of value to them.
I live in Switzerland with my family.
All opinions and views are my own.
